Pension Program
Ostomates are able to receive the Disability Pension before acquisition age of the Pension.
Welfare Program for physically-handicapped person
This program is founded for helping physically handicapped persons for improvement of the welfare, independence and participation to social activities.
Subsidiary for acquiring ostomy appliances (on condition of income tax)
A subusidy system of ostomy appliances is changed by enforcement of the disabled person Independence Supporting Law in 2006.

Social Rehabilitation training for ostomates
Municipal corporation have training programs for promoting social rehabilitation to ostomates, and the enforcement of these programs is entrusted to JOA, which is incorporated under the Ministry of Health & Labor.
64 Chapters of JOA were responsible to hold approx.1,080 seminars and meetings for social rehabilitation training and consultation in 2006.
Toilets Facilities for Ostomates
Many Japanese ostomates are hesitant to leave home and have active lives in the community because they worry about how should empty their pouches or handle leakage problems when occured away from home. It is particularly stressful and instills panic to deal with leakage of stool or urine while in public.
